The recipe for Berrymans Wine Gums is a closely guarded secret but we can tell you that no actual wine is used in the manufacturing process of them. Despite this, we still manage to make them taste amazing.
So why are they called Wine Gums I hear you ask... Well, wine gums, were not originally intended to taste like wine, but instead made with various fruit flavours, such as blackcurrant, lemon, strawberry, lime and others, which were reminiscent of the notes found in many wines. As they gained popularity in the 19th century, so did the name and here we are today... Wine Gums!
We love wine gums, but we can't decided between us whether we prefer midget gems over them. Both are great retro sweets and compliment each other perfectly.
And if you're still on the hunt for a drink, try out out Pint Pots (Beer Bottles) … Again, they don't contain any actual beer (sorry to disappoint).
