Research tells us that they go right back to the 18th century, and even though we don't have any staff going that far back, we have managed to make the closest thing to what you would have bought all those years ago. Authentic Pear Drops. Our pear drops are very much a favourite not only for us, but for anyone who tries them! Mind you, we do make sure they've got plenty of extra flavour which may be why people tend to love them so much.
We are occasionally asked "Why are they red and yellow?" and here's why... The yellow sweets represent the juicy, sweet pear flavour, while the red ones represent a tangy, sour element.
